Your Local Nursery with a Big Heart

For over 25 years, Craigard Nursery has been a trusted part of the Cumbernauld community — providing nurturing childcare and exceptional early years education for children aged 0 to 5. We know that choosing a nursery is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a parent. That’s why every child at Craigard is known, valued, and genuinely cared about — not just cared for.

What makes Craigard different is the consistency of care, experience, and relationships that run through everything we do. Many of our team have been with us for years — some for decades. Our Nursery Manager, Karen, has been part of the Craigard family for over 20 years. We don’t just meet ratios. We focus on meaningful interactions, genuine attachments, and creating a space where children feel safe, confident, and excited to come every morning.

Our approach to early learning is play-based, intentional, and aligned to Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition — Scotland’s national guidance for early years. From baby room to pre-school, every stage is thoughtfully planned to support your child’s development: language, independence, social skills, and the confidence they’ll need when they start school. We also place real emphasis on outdoor learning, giving children space to explore, take risks, and grow.

Craigard is recognised for the quality of our care. We hold Eco School status and a Health Promoting Nursery — Gold award. Our Care Inspectorate inspections have consistently returned ‘Good’ to ‘Very Good’ ratings across Care and Support, Environment, and Staffing. These aren’t just badges — they’re independent, external confirmation that we do what we say we do.
