Quality Counts

At Craigard we aim to continuously improve our practice to ensure we deliver quality care & education. Take a look at our quality kite marks/processes.

The HPN gives the nursery and the people who work in partnership with us the opportunity to have a positive and enduring impact on the health of children, parents, carers, staff and the wider community. Craigard Nursery completed the Silver Award in October 2009 and is now working towards completion of our Gold Award by March 2011.

Investors in People have grown to be the UK's leading people management quality kite mark. Achieving IIP status demonstrates that an organization is serious about developing and investing in its people development. Craigard Nursery received its first IIP award in 2007 and was duly re-accredited in 2009.

Eco-Schools is an international initiative designed to encourage whole-school action for the environment. Craigard Nursery has been registered as an eco school.

We are a member of the NDNA organisation which provides our management and staff with support, information and advice.

Craigard Nursery is in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, which allows us to offer government funding to all 3-5 year olds. This partnership also allows us to send staff on training days enabling them to learn new knowledge and skills, which will benefit the children and nursery alike. Working with North Lanarkshire Council enables the nursery to access a wide range of information and resources, which is incorporated into our working practice. Each year we submit a quality improvement plan and receive regular visits from the Early Years department to further our professional development.

The nursery has successfully met the standards set by HMIE and the Care Inspectorate in recent inspections. The nursery is inspectedon a yearly basis by the Care Commission to ensure Care standards are upheld. Our last HMIE inspected was conducted in September 2010. You can access these site to view our positive inspection reports.
